Agriculture

FEEDING THE WORLD IS A COMPLEX CHALLENGE.
WE’RE UP TO THE TASK.

Our nitrogen-based fertilizers play a vital role in agriculture. They’re used to grow food crops, biofuel feedstock crops, grazing land for livestock and forage production. Our products are used in diverse areas, ranging from the Eastern and Western Corn Belts to the Southern Plains region. Typically, farmers and ranchers choose nitrogen-based fertilizers based on crop selection, soil and weather conditions, regional farming practices and relative nitrogen fertilizer prices.

Agriculture already uses much of our available land (some studies show it’s more than 40%), and without fertilizer to boost crop growth in cultivated areas, we would need to convert significantly more land to meet demand.

However, over the past 40 years in North America, farmers have been able to more than double their production on roughly the same amount of acreage. This is thanks, in part, to fertilizer.

We provide essential fertilizer products that allow farmers to grow more efficiently and feed a growing population. Those products include ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate, and ammonium nitrate. Our products are used as fertilizer for crops, pastures, and forage areas across North America, from the Corn Belt to the Central U.S. to the Southern Plains. Our fertilizers support a variety of crops and grains including corn, cotton, wheat, alfalfa, vegetables and citrus.
